SMART Asbestos enables asbestos surveyors to undertake managed and intrusive asbestos surveys using a handheld PDA. The application enables sampling of asbestos to be recorded on the PDA, with full details of room, location, material type, quantity, fixing type and condition etc to be gathered. The PDA assists in the creation of cross referenced sample numbers which can be recorded manually on the sample bags used by the surveyor. The system generates a Microsoft Excel output which can be used by testing laboratories to record data against the samples obtained from site. The PDA also enables the surveyor to record the location and condition of any element that is sampled in the property.

eTech also provides a floorplan CAD rendering service that can be tied back to processed sample results and displayed in an asbestos data sheet such as the sample that can downloaded in the link to the right.

Having been principally designed for use in the social housing sector, SMART Asbestos can be preloaded with asset UPRNs which can be searched for and selected by the surveyor on the PDA. This enables all results to be tied back to a social housing provider’s asset ID or UPRN. This enables eTech to generate a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet of all the data collected for insertion into the social landlord's asset management system.
