SMART Gas Safety enables gas engineers to capture the data required to produce Gas Safety certificates. The engineer attending site inputs the data directly into the PDA. On leaving site the engineer sends the data via the PDA’s GPRS connection to eTech’s server. The Gas Certificate is produced as a PDF document and is available immediately to be downloaded or printed. All certificates are archived and stored electronically by eTech for 15 years and are available for download at any point for a duplicate copy to be printed. In addition, the data captured on site is stored in an SQL database. This ensures that all the data collected can be generated into Excel, to enable organisations managing large boiler installations to run effective management reporting.

Certificates can be mailed to the homeowner by the service provider or alternatively eTech offers this as a service for £0.95 per certificate to include printing, mailing and postage. Parts ordering can be enabled on the PDA to allow the engineer in the field to select and order parts for repairs and servicing. This reduces the time spent identifying parts and improves accuracy and turnaround time of the ordering process.
