SMART Photovoltaic enables surveyors to capture the data required to specify and quote
homeowners for the installation of Photovoltaic Panels.
The surveyor attending site inputs the site information required directly into the PDA.
The PDA’s on board camera is triggered at relevant points in the inspection to capture
photographs of building elements. Using the data collected during the survey (such as
the number of panels, overshading factors, rated power of the PV system and annual solar
irradiation - dependant on location, roof tilt and orientation) the software calculates
the estimated Annual Energy Produced (kWh), Power of the Installation (kWp) and Estimated
Income.
The results of the survey can be shared and discussed in the home with the homeowner
immediately following the inspection. In addition, the engineer can submit the data
and images collected in the field via the PDA’s GPRS connection to eTech’s server. This
automatically generates an Inspection Report. The Record of Inspection contains all site
data with images embedded and labelled and is available immediately to be downloaded or
printed. The survey data can also be exported into Excel, enabling organisations to utilise
their own quotation or management software.
SMART Photovoltaic enables surveyors to focus on the quality of their inspections by removing
the monotony of report writing, scanning of site plans and field sheets and the uploading and
annotation of photos. SMART Photovoltaic's traffic light menu ensures that all the required
data, particularly any limits to installation, is adequately recorded, together with supporting
photographs. SMART Photovoltaic ensures an accurate, complete and legible Inspection Report is
delivered for every instruction.
