eTech’s software is supported on the HTC HD2, HTC P6500, together with the Samsung Omnia 2. The PDA recommended and supplied is the HD2. In our opinion, the HTC HD2 (specified by over 80% of eTech’s customers) delivers the best all-round performance and value for money.

All models have integrated cameras, use the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating platform, are 3G GPRS enabled for data submission in the field and GPS enabled for TomTom satellite navigation.

PDAs can either be sourced independently by the customer or supplied to the customer by eTech. PDAs sourced independently by the customer are sent to eTech for software configuration. PDAs are supplied by eTech either as an Outright Purchase or a Monthly payment option.

In addition, SMART EPC (and shortly SMART Floorplan) is available on the Apple IOS platform for use on the iPhone and iPad. Users who wish to use an iPhone or iPad should source their hardware from their own supplier and download the eTech applications from Apple’s App Store. Please contact eTech for more information.

All PDAs are provided with a mains charger, telephone earpiece and USB lead.

A bespoke clipboard with an integrated PDA mount can be purchased for the HTC P6500 and the HD2 at a cost of £25 plus VAT. The HD2 requires the ruggerdised case to fit in the clipboard which you need to purchase at a cost of £38 plus VAT.

eTech typically provides the SIM card required to enable survey submissions in the field. The associated costs of maintaining the SIM card are included in the applicable Survey Generation Fees payable for use of the software, subject to a minimum monthly usage. As with Hardware, clients can provide their own SIM card for use in the PDA if they wish, in which case no minimum monthly usage requirements apply.
